At the regular session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held on January 10, 2025 through the digital system, to our esteemed President was presented the proposal to conduct statistical reporting in the country based on the improved version of the National Accounts System was approved.

Based on the tasks set by the State Committee of Statistics of Turkmenistan in the "Program for the socio-economic development of the country of the President of Turkmenistan in 2022-2028" and conducting the statistical system in accordance with the improved version of the System of National Accounts (SNA), together with experts from international financial organizations, GDP improvement of the methods of calculating output and other macroeconomic indicators was carried out on a phased basis over several years. 

In the framework of the transition to the improved version of the National Accounts System by TurkmenStat, the methodologies used in the field of statistical reporting were modernized, several methodological documents based on the improved version of the National Accounts System were developed and implemented in the statistical work. At the same time, the "E-Statistics and business-registry" software, which meets the requirements of the manual of the improved version of the System of National Accounts (SNA), was prepared and installed in the statistical system.

Improvement of the statistical system of Turkmenistan in accordance with the requirements of the time was carried out on the basis of the technical and methodological support of the Statistical Service of the European Union, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the United Nations.
